After finishing my vocal studies at the Academy of Music in Kraków, Poland I completed my post-graduate studies at the Hochschule für Musik - Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden, Germany. Already during my studies there I was employed as a soprano in the ensemble of the Semperoper Dresden. My biggest dream came true and I started my big adventure there as an opera singer. I sang as a lyric soprano in numerous roles with many distinguished conductors such as Sir Colin Davis, John Fiore, Marcello Viotti or Giuseppe Sinopoli and cooperated with stage directors such as Harry Kupfer, Udo Samel, and Hans Hollmann. It was very inspiring for me as a young singer to be on stage with many great opera stars and to receive important advice and motivation from them.
As my voice grew, so did my desire to sing the great opera roles. After my transition into the dramatic repertoire a new chapter as an opera and concert singer began. Starting as Abigaille in Verdi’s “Nabucco” in the Altenburg-Gera Theatre, guest performances on many great stages of Germany followed with many leading roles such as Tosca, Aida, Fidelio, and Leonore in “La Forza del Destino”. In the National Opera in Warsaw and Kraków I performed the roles of Verdi’s Abigaille and Aida and Puccini’s Tosca for many years.
On several European concert stages (e.g. Tonhalle Zürich, Musikhalle Hamburg, Philharmonie Berlin) and in opera galas I was able to expand my repertoire to include R. Wagner’s Isolde and Brünnhilde from Wagner’s “Götterdämmerung”. Under renowned conductors and fantastic choirs I sang Verdi’s Requiem, Bruckner’s f- minor Mass, Bizet‘s Te Deum, Rossini’s Stabat Mater and Missa Solennelle, and Dvorak’s Stabat Mater. My performance, which included songs by Rudolf Mauersberger during a concert in the Zwinger in Dresden, was broadcast live by MDR, Central German Broadcasting.
Besides my artistic work, for more than 20 years now I have been teaching numerous young students and professional singers. In 2013 I decided with fulfilment and tranquillity to end my singing career and to commit myself fully to working with singers. In addition to the private lessons I organize workshops in my singing studio as well as master classes in the summer.
